The Sort command in the Data menu sorts a selected column of data and any associated columns you specify. You can sort both alphanumeric and numeric data.
The sort column you select is sorted in ascending or descending order; any columns associated with the sort column are reordered so that associated values remain in the same rows with their original sort column values.
Step 1
Choose the Sort command from the Data menu.
Step 2
Under the Sort Column heading, click the name of the column you want to sort.
Step 3
Under the Associated Column heading, click to select each column associated with the selected column that you also want to sort.
• To sort all columns in the active data window, click the All Columns button.
Step 4
Select the Ascending or Descending button to specify how you want the selected columns sorted, then click OK to perform the sort.
